1. Prepare the V60 Setup
Place the V60 dripper on top of your mug or carafe. Fold the V60 filter paper along the seam and place it inside the dripper.
2. Pre-Wet the Filter
Rinse the filter paper with hot water to remove any papery taste and preheat your equipment. Discard the water before brewing.
3. Measure Your Coffee and Water
For the perfect ratio, use 15-18 grams of coffee for every 250 grams (ml) of water. Adjust according to your preference.
4. Bloom the Coffee
Add your freshly ground coffee into the filter. Start by pouring just enough hot water to cover the grounds (about twice the weight of the coffee). Let it bloom for 30-45 seconds. This allows the coffee to release gases, enhancing the flavor.
5. Begin the Pour
Slowly pour hot water in a circular motion, starting from the center and spiraling outwards. Pour until you’ve added about half of the remaining water.
6. Second Pour
After about 30 seconds, continue pouring the rest of the water in the same circular motion. Aim for a total brew time of around 2.5-3 minutes.
7. Let it Drain
Once you've poured all the water, let the coffee drip through the filter completely. This should take another 30 seconds.
8. Enjoy Your Coffee
Remove the V60 dripper and admire your freshly brewed cup of coffee. Give it a little stir and enjoy the rich, clean flavors unique to V60 brewing.
